Lol only because I paid the same as I could get a Pi 3+ for. And it was next day free delivery. ;)

The way they things are going with no replies on the rest of the forum it looks like I may end up using the Protoneer for the engraver CNC I have and get a UCCNC 5 Port ethernet controller as they have a combo on offer which comes with licence.

What else are you having problems with?
I am using my Protoneer on my own 3D printed CNC laser design. It's working perfect so far, just waiting on the laser driver to come off of backorder to be able to finish the project.

Just trying to work out what wires whould be shielded. The motor wires or the Limit switch wires.

Personally I would strongly suggest the PLANETCNC controllers. There software is the most mature of all cnc softwares I have seen and used. with the greatest suite of options I have seen. BUT I would suggest that only for 3+ axis MILLS, and compound lathe/mills, and 4+ 5+ axis (NOT MIRROR) mills. I do a lot of CNC work with my cnc mill and the GRBL control options, linuxcnc, and mach3 are sadly limited in there features set and or maturity. But I'm referring to special features like offset's and code adjustments and in software gcode rotations and many many other features. basically things that are not needed by 3 OR LESS axis 3d printers, laser etchers, lathes and so on. That is why protoneer has been so successful, it covers at low cost 75%+ of the markets needs.
