CNC Hat for 3D Printer

Post by drummin89 » Sun Jul 28, 2019 12:39 am

Has anyone used a Pi CNC Hat to control a 3D printer? I have a v2.58 hat that currently controls my table top CNC that I built. I am looking to convert it to a 3D printer. The CNC hat has the 4th axis available so I would think that could be used for the extruder. I was wondering how to control the heated bed and hot end. Maybe there is a board available, or I could make one, hat could monitor and control the hot end and heated bed, communicating to the hat via i2c?

Is there a firmware out there that would support this, or the possibility to modify the existing firmware to add support for this?
