New versions planned?

Post by Mochanic » Mon Nov 12, 2018 10:51 pm

Hello, this is my first post.

Is there currently a CNC hat for the Pi that is newer than the V2.60 being planned anytime soon? It will be a few months before I will be ready for one and I don't want to buy one now only to have a newer model come out before I even finish my machine.

In order to finish designing my electronics case I need a hat in my hands to design the case around it. (But I don't want to have to start over in a couple of months!) Do you have a 3d model that I could use for my design stage?

Sorry for the delay...

Currently the design is pretty stable. Short term we have not planned changes but will likely add some new features in a few months but don't plan to change the footprint.

Unfortunately I can't do a 3d model from Kicad but I can do a DXF file if that can help.

Thanks for the reply.
I was able to find a very accurate model that I am now using to design my new electronics case.
For anyone else looking to do the same here is a link to the 3d model: https://grabcad.com/library/protoneer-r ... at-v2-60-1

So, I guess maybe I should wait to buy your next version... My project probably won't be ready anytime soon anyways. Can't wait to see what you features you add!

Are there any future plans to add more axes?

The current 4 Axis is great, but I'd like to add a rotary in the future.

These boards are designed around GRBL. Future version will support more axes but we will have to wait and see... ;)
