Field Based Indication Light controlled from Website

Post by truebluekiwi » Sun Sep 20, 2020 10:32 pm

Hello

I am a newbie, and not someone who has an interest in developing electronics, and I am looking for either a solution or for someone who could build such a device for me?

What I am after:
I need an addressable internet connectable electronic field device that simply has two LEDS that enable us to signal an availability status for a bookable space (desk, meeting room, etc...) within a commercial building. They would signal either Green=Available or Red=Unavailable.

This device needs to be able to be triggered by a web based commercial space booking system that we are developing - so these lights would need to be able to be triggered Green or Red from a booking website which would output the status condition depending on what had been booked (or not booked)...

I wondered if there was someone here who could assist me by either producing the field device solution for me or by referring me to someone who can?

I have seen the Arduino.ide, and I can see this would provide for an ability to create such a solution - or there might be a simpler solution? Alternatively there might already be a proprietary solution available that can do this?

In summary - what I need is a device that can be located in remote areas and that is connected to the internet either wirelessly or via CAT6, which can them be activated (Green or Red) based on the booking status of a website booking solution for a set physical spoace.

Any assistance gratefully received...

Thanks
Mark Angus

Have a look at M5Stack....

Their core device includes Wifi, screen , a few buttons and is programmed in Python. Once you have a prototype going in M5 not hard to design a unit based on their opensource design that will fit your needs and budget.

I am the moment I am not taking on contract manufacturing work as I am fully booked out looking after our new born baby....
