SilentStepStick TMC2130

Post by tmc_device » Thu Nov 29, 2018 5:07 pm

I would like to use the SilentStepStick TMC2130 motor drive boards [1] for two reasons:

* They are supposed to run smoother and quieter
* They should be able to detect torque (which should minimize step loss) and use that to make homing runs (there is a "debug"-pin which work like an end stop!

I searched the forum, but couldn't find any info on the use of these motor drivers. These are not necessarily drop-in replacements for the standard polulu-drives. They need (as far as i understand) a spi connection to be configured. Does anyone have info on how to use them or if there are any pins still open to use as spi connection?

Regards!

GRBL uses all of the available pins on the 328 MCU.

GRBL Mega might work but there is very little info on that...
