What way to go

Post by erniehatt » Sun Mar 10, 2019 1:34 am

Hi,
I am thinking off rebuilding my CNC, and am looking towards a 3D printer style design.
My problem is should I continue to go with the Pi setup or use Repetier along with Ramps style control.
I have had problems setting endstops in the Pihat, but not with Repetier, but is that enough to warrant changing.

Repetier might offer you more pins from memory. GRBL is getting dated and we are waiting for the next release to update our hardware.

Thanks Bertus,
I will keep my eye out for it.
What I like about Repetier is that it will allow me to use the extruder ports to double up on the X and Y axis, plus I find it much easier to set the end stops .
