Pine64 in place of Pi?

Post by Sendero » Tue Feb 25, 2020 6:01 pm

Has anyone tried using a different board with a rPi header like the Pine64? I have one of these pine64 boards in a small enclosure w/ touch screen and it is just collecting dust. I had tried in the past to use it with UGS to a cheap 3018 machine through USB, but it kept disconnecting while sending the code. I came across the cnc hat while looking into building a new machine. I have never used the rPi header on the board, but I have tinkered some with the euler bus.

I have not used it on other Pi like boards, but if there are pin compatible there is no reason they will not work.

The main thing is to check that the serial pins are the same...

GPIO 14 anf 15 are the main serial pins. The top 5V , 3.3V and Ground pins also needed.
