Hi I have enabled attachments for you. Could you please try to add them again. Jumpers are not needed if you use external drivers.

Have you tried to swap external drivers with the working axis?

Other three images, i have the settings exactly the same on all three of the stepper drivers =
SW1 OFF
SW2 OFF
SW3 ON

Dip Switch's 1& 2 on & the rest are off.

For X & Y axis im using : 17HS4401-S Stepper Motors
Z Axis: 17HS13-0404S Stepper Motor

Thanks for the photo's...

Your setup seems okay.

Have you connected the Stepper drivers like this?

Image

From your photos I could not clearly see what wires goes between the RPI CNC board and the stepper drivers. Could you please tell me what wires are going from the stepper X stepper driver to the RPI hat?

Also are your stepper motor wiring to stepper drivers the same for all steppers?

Ok now i feel totally stupid!! I had two wires the wrong / opposite way round!!

SO FRUSTRATING !!

All axis are now going the correct way :) THANK YOU..

I still have the small matter of getting the 5v relay to trigger, the relay itself is showing it has power so i must have my 5v feed and gnd correctly connected. Its just the case of getting the relay to trigger from the spindle control.

At the moment it is connected to the "SPIN DIR" pin, i have already tried in on the SPN EN pin and still nothing happens. A

Any ideas?

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP SO FAR!!
Callum

The V2.51 uses the PWM version of GRBL. So the Spindle enable pin pulse instead of just switching on and off. (Need to set the speed of the pulses with the S command)

To switch it on:

Code: Select all

M3 S1000
To switch it off:

Code: Select all

M5
Also make sure you have a relay that can be driven by the microcontroller like this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/5V-2-Channel-Re ... 1971122754

Could you tell me what wires you had to switch? I am having the same issue. My X,Y and Z axis are moving opposite of the jog command that I send it using bCNC.

I will follow this post with pictures of my setup

I figured out the direction issue. I just had to switch the wires on one set of coils on each stepper motor.
