nothing too fancy , just want to see the machine run through it's pace's after we do the X,Y,Z movements with the screen controls .I figgured to let it run under a working program to see if it can keep up . I'm all new to this , so I really don't know what to expect out of the MAX

Howdy folk's , I hope to fire up my machine this weekend (Maxnc mill w/cnc shield 3.0 ) I was told that there are some site's that have G-code files that can be downloaded , has any of you folk's used any of them ? any to stay clear of ? My speed controller was a cludge of components & solder snott. I thought I would use a speed control I have for a Dremel for the initial testing & I will prob replace the motor at some stage to get rid of the noise & fire issue.

hi there , I have a few questions . when I bought my CNC shield 3.00 it came with A4988 driver's & see a lot of projects using DRV8825 . I am using Powermax11 steppers , is one driver better than the other? or should I stick with the A4988's? My steppers sa that they are rated for 65 VDC ,do I loose...

once again tk's for the info , I am totally lost on this one , once again I will wait till my kid visit's which should be in a few week's , & let him tackle this one . he has a much better attention span for stuff like this , kinda the " old dog , new trick's " syndrome here

thanks for the info , it will be a bit til I get back to the MAX , waiting for my kid to visit , he is the Arduino pro . I was figuring on using one of the old electronic's enclosure for the uno & cnc shield . so you have the shield connected on both ends ? reason I ask is for some reason I seem to ...

looking at your pic , I don't see any limit switches . are you not using any , or are they mounted on the back of the machine ? I have a old MAXNC10 with the Powermaxx11 steppers that I am working on getting set up on a 3.0 CNC shield. If you use them & don't mind posting more pic's I would be inter...

microstep question

hi there , I have not found a description for microstep that I fully understand . which is the most reliable jumper setting ? I have a ver3.0 board
with PowermaxII steppers. I don't want to draw too much current.
