Re: Gatton CNC Build

It was my fault. I just didn't have my couplers tight enough on the lead screws. Been running like a top ever since.

Trying to teach myself stuff

Ever since the version with the separate Nano... there have been these 4 black parts (I think they are mosfe...

Re: adding a laser to my existing PI CNC

Thanks Ernie. So how are you hooking up the 12v for the laser? are you running the wires directly to the laser power supply (mine is a 12v 5a power brick) or are you linking the power brick to the Pi?

adding a laser to my existing PI CNC

I have been running my Protoneer Pi hat for 2 years and so far it has been great! I tend not to mess with what is working, however I did just buy a 3.5W laser to add to my machine. I am running external drivers, and a probe (have not bothered with end stops yet.) The laser came with 2 separate cords...

End stop and probe How-to's?

Are there any good how-to's on hooking up end stops and a probe to our Hat? I have tried to find one but have been unsuccessful so far. I have been using my Raspberry pi controller for almost a year without them but I would like to add them.

Re: Marlin firmware compatibility

Tim,

did you ever get to see if Marlin works on the Pi? I love how well my Pi works as my CNC Controller and would like to do another one if possible.

Re: Probing

So I want to add the probe to mine. Just want to make sure I do it correctly. from what I gather I need to add my limit switches first. does everyone put them at the front or back of the machine for y axis? both sides for the x? and on the probe install 2 wires to the board (probe and ground)... on ...
