Porting AVR Software/Debugging on Nano ARM

Issues noted: 1. Nothing prints on the console. Diagnosis: AVR boards always print to the console through the Serial object, as in Serial.println("Hello World") Arduino ARM boards print to console through SerialUSB, as in SerialUSB.println("Hello World"). (technically this applies only the the Nativ...

Re: ENC28J60 question

I am pleased to report (preliminary) success with the ENC28J60 module for Nano V3 using the strategy outlined. That is: 1. Using a newly created device variant (Nano Zero) I was able to redefine the SPI interface away from the ICSP header to the traditional pins for Nano, D10,D11,D12,D13. The header...

Around the world (3/4 of it) in 14 Days

I am happy to report that my purchase of Nano ARMs has arrived in California after only two weeks. During that time they acquired an impressive number of air miles, traveling from New Zealand to Singapore, taking an unexpected left turn to Frankfurt, Germany, on to New York and finally to San Jose, ...

Re: Power Changes/Issues with Nano ARM

Thanks for updating the power info. On the former 5V now 3V3 pin, tying it to the pin labeled VIn would be a dangerous choice (potentially >12V on what is expected to be no more than 5V This would happen when powered from an expansion shield.). Connecting it to the USB port could work, at least when...

Re: ENC28J60 question

Bertus, I am aware that the available SPI pins are brought out on the ICSP connector (that was the solution I considered unwieldy). It is undesirable to me because it means that one of the main benefits of the Nano form factor is lost. That is, if you can't use shields that accept the Nano pinout to...

Re: ENC28J60 question

In partial answer to the question I posed, it appears that the SPI signals will not be found on the pins expected by the ENC28J60 shield for the Nano, at least the Arduino Zero docs say they only appear on the ICSP connector. However, the SAMD21 is a flexible device and it is possible to define SPI ...

Power Changes/Issues with Nano ARM

I notice that one of the few pin labeling changes is the change of the 5V pin that is adjacent to RST and A7/SCL to 3V3. This may or may not be appropriate for some peripherals like an ENC28J60 and is almost certainly not appropriate for the Nano sensor shields (image attached) that are also popular...

Can't Post in Nano-ARM Forum

I can post here and most other subforums, but the new topic button is unavailable in the Nano-ARM.

Since the Nano ARM is what I have ordered from Protoneer, that is more than a little disappointing.

So far, last week's email to the admin has been ignored, so far as I can tell.
