Hi I bought the CNC board about 3 years ago - I built a CNC machine that I use for wood and plastic routing . Its been great , absolutely love it . Its never missed a beat . Now, I tried to convert it to a Plasma CNC . Im using a Low Frequency plasma cutter, but I'm still getting random EMF that is ...

how can I power bigger stepper motors?

hi, I built my CNC Machine almost 2 years ago and I 'm extremely happy with it and the Protoneer / Arduino Board. Now I want to enlarge the CNC, its currently 600 mm (X) by 600 mm (Y) and I'm using the largest Nema17 motors I can find ( 65 Ncm/92 oz.) I'm using 2 motors for Y axis . I want to double...

looking for advice - Im struggling with my board

I'm at my wits end and would appreciate any help with this problem. first - some background I have a home built CNC machine using the Protoneer Arduino CNC machine V3.51 which I bought a few months ago. I set the jumper so I can use 2 stepper motors , i.e. ''Ý'' axis is "Y + Á''. When I first set it...

GCode Sender and Alarm codes

Hi I'm using the GCode Sender vs 1.09. Since completing the CNC machine, I've started playing around with some simple GCode examples. Today while trying a simple example, I got an Alarm code 3. It didn't say what the error was, just Alarm 3 Where can I find a list of all the Alarm codes? Thanks Sam

Re: Issues with Homing

I just want to call out something I may have forgotten to mention before The Chinese board came with DRV8825 drivers and I'm using 1.8 Amp steppers. My understanding is that these are drop in compatible with the board. anyway .... I installed the latest nightly build of the G-Code sender I also uplo...

Re: Issues with Homing

gmoney484 It only seems to happen if I issue the home. ($H) command. I can issue any other commend - forward backward etc and they all work fine. I can issue a commend to go back to Zero it all works fine and doesn't overheat. (i.e. G01 x0) I tried to slow it down further to see if thats make any d...

Issues with Homing

Hi I have the stepper motor and controller on the bench and Im trying to set up the X axis first, then when I have that right the other 2 Axis should be a replication of X (more of less). so its all progressing reasonable well, until I tried to test the Homing functions. I have the -X pins connected...
