Re: MaxNC-10 conversion

I am going to go the route like this guy did, using a RC aircraft motor and controller. http://mikefazz.com/MainBlog/maxnc-cnc-mill-conversion-part-5-rc-motor/ I also have the horrible OEM 1/10 HP motor which makes more noise than cutting power. I have picked the parts, and will probably order them ...

Re: MaxNC-10 conversion

I'm not that guy, but I just finished my own MAXNC-10 OL project. Started out with the original MAXNC DOS program and factory steppers and controller. It was kind of slow, but otherwise was OK It worked fine until one day when it went POOF and a smoke cloud came out of the control cabinet. I then up...

Re: Weird external driver issues

I found this to be the case on my 2.60 hat as well after quite a bit of trial/error/swearing. Perhaps this is because I'm using the external socket connectors from my old 2.58 hat which I fried, on my new 2.60? (from left to right): 1) Direction, 2) Step, 3) Enable, 4) Ground. Bonus (?) I now have a...

Re: Weird external driver issues

So you're saying that the Protoneer 2.6 board if I'm looking at the top, (where the writing is) it goes Dir/step/enable/ground for each the terminal block when I'm using the external driver adapters? See ascii art: |--------------------------------------| |--Protoneer 2.60 | |-----------------------...

Weird external driver issues

I bought 3 tb6560 drivers to use with my CNC hat. I have them wired correctly as far as I know, but they will not move the steppers. If I jog in one direction, it just hums/whines, and if I jog in the other direction, it just makes one 'clunk' and does nothing more. Here is a quick video I made: htt...

Using external motor drivers questions

I just got my new version Hat, now a couple questions: I'm using external drivers TB6560s 1. Do I need to set the microstepping jumpers on the hat? Or just put the external driver pieces in the sockets? 2. Does the Hat need the 36v power from my power supply connected? At the moment the machine I'm ...

Re: smoke :(

Got a new hat and made a quick test, it communicates successfully, so I guess I fried the other one.

Now I can make some progress :)

Re: smoke :(

Yes, I'm using a Pi3.

I double clicked the script on the desktop and it did something, then rebooted. Still have the same issues.
