Re: Pololu Driver sources (utter newbie etc)

Hi Nick, https://learningdevelopments.co.nz/products/a4988-stepper-motor-driver-carrier?_pos=2&_sid=a13f02ac8&_ss=r It use to be NiceGear.co.nz but they were bought out... Other option is Trademe... Lots of clones out there that work fine. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/search?search_string=A4988&user_...

Re: Headless bCNC operation

bCNC needs a screen to operate. So it will need to be VNC and it will only be able to run after connecting.

Not sure if Linux has a way to do that....

Is it possible to directly wire E-Stop and control panel buttons to the RST, ABORT, RESUME and HOLD buttons on the shield? Thanks in advance.
Yes... it should be okay. Shorting the pin to GND will activate their function

Re: 7 in touchscreen power supply

I have a v. 2.60 with rpi and the 7 in touchscreen. Since the Protoneer hat uses the power GPIO pins, how are others powering their touchscreen? Use one of the USB outputs from the rpi to the micro usb port on the touchscreen control board? With a good USB power supply like the 3A RPi power adapter...

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B - no life sign from the motors

From your email this the unit you are using... TB6560.gif This particular driver looks like the 5V pin is powering an optocopulare of some kind and can be using a bit of current on the 5V pin. (Some of these drivers also don't need the Enable pin connected because they have a pull up resistor. )

Re: Raspberry Pi 4 Model B - no life sign from the motors

This is what I would try. wire.png The reason for the External 5V source is because I am not sure how much current the stepper driver is using on the 5V pin. I have suggest tying the Enable pin to the 5V pin while we try to get the external drivers moving. (My suspicion is that the enable pin is the...

Re: Another rebuild

AN update, so far I have the gantry frame built, ready for the Z and X rails to be fitted, also have the X Z base plate built with bearings and the spindle bracket. Probably will not get back to it until after Easter. Hoping that Bertus has made progress on the 5 axis board. :D Slowly but surely......
